Ben Coffman MA, EFO, NRP has been a friend for nearly forty years. He currently serves as Deputy Fire Chief - Emergency Management Coordinator for Frederick County (Virginia) Fire & Rescue. He retired after more than 20 year's service in Fairfax County Fire & Rescue Department. Additionally, Ben serves on the National Capital Region Incident Management Team, traveling to disasters across the nation. He's an occupational cancer survivor, a Badge-to-Badge mentor with the Firefighter Cancer Support Network, a member of the Peer Support Team at Fairfax County Fire & Rescue, and formerly served as the Fire Chief for the City of Livingston Montana Fire & Rescue.
Coffman is a Life Member of Hose Company 4, Inc Volunteer Fire Department in Harrisonburg. A lifelong friend of Wes Dove, Ben started his firefighting journey at just 14 years old with the Timberville (Va) Volunteer Fire Department. Ben has dedicated his life to serving the communities he's been a part of. In this session, we'll talk with Ben about his clear purpose for accepting leadership responsibility and the purpose that's driven throughout his career!
