The Secret to Consistently Moving Forward
Mar 17, 2021In James Allen’s As a Man Thinketh he shares, “People are anxious to improve their circumstances but are unwilling to improve themselves; they therefore remain bound.”
When this quote comes to mind, entire periods of my life do as well because these are times I (Cindy) chose to remain bound. In my defense, I had not yet learned about personal growth but I certainly knew I wasn’t where I wanted to be. I also knew I was choosing to maintain in life rather than get far enough out of my comfort zone to create the change needed.
Suddenly, a life event threw me out of my comfort zone - like overnight. Not long after, I learned about personal growth and everything started changing for the better. Before I learned about personal growth and started applying growth principles to my life, I was filled with ambition without guidance and worse yet, without the willingness to get out of my comfort zone where all my dreams and goals were! This combination of knowing you need to take action yet without the willingness to stretch and grow creates perpetual frustration and depletes your self-confidence. I know because I lived it!
The great news is, anyone willing to take intentional action for ongoing growth will be a better version of themselves tomorrow than they are today and consistently move toward their own goals and dreams. I didn’t say it will always seem like forward movement but I guarantee you it will be if you keep growing! John Maxwell puts it this way, “growth compounds and accelerates when you remain intentional about it.”
The positive impact personal growth and professional development has on anyone who applies growth principles is exactly why we created our Intentional Action for Ongoing Growth courses. And why we offer them on a complimentary basis. You can check them out here and even share this with others if you would like.
Go ahead and join us today before the Law of Diminishing Intent sets in! As you may know it says, “The longer you wait to do something you know you should do, the greater the odds you will never do it.” We hope to see you!
