Seeing the Big Picture

When we cast a vision we know requires more teamwork than our people are currently demonstrating, leaders need to message The Big Picture. The team must hear that the goal is more important than the role and help their people see the big picture.

Everyone on the team matters. The more we help each member of the team understand the importance they play on the team and how their individual contribution contributes to the team's accomplishment, the more buy-in they should have to the team's success. This shows them how what they do on a daily basis matters!

Ray Kroc, the founder of McDonald’s, is known for often saying to his teams, “No one of us is more important than the rest of us.” This helped his team see the big picture!

Every team member must give up personal agendas to do what is best for the team. These are the type of expectations we need to discuss with our team so they know the behaviors that demonstrate each team member keeping a Big Picture Perspective.
