Do you have a sense of direction? That’s one of the first questions John asks is chapter 2 of The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth, The Law of Awareness. He says “to grow, you must know yourself: your strengths and weaknesses, your interests and opportunities.”
About a year ago, I had the opportunity to become one of the first couple of hundred people in the world to get licensed to offer what has turned out to be the MOST effective team building and leadership diagnostic tool I’ve ever experienced: The John Maxwell Leadership Game. Since then, Cindy and I have been able to introduce several dozen of our closest business associates and friends, and now more than a few organizations, to what this GAME really offers. I vividly remember thinking just prior to our first pilot session, after setting everything in place before the group arrived, “wow, this looks corny…” Two very short hours later, I realized how wrong I really was!
In the process of learning how to most effectively use this very unique tool and introduce such a different approach to a number of the leaders that we know, we’ve been very intentional about who we’ve invited to open sessions and where we’ve facilitated sessions for business teams. The open sessions have been outside of business hours and designed to not only give participants huge value from just this diagnostic tool, we were very intentional about making sure everyone we invited to each session would get value from the interaction of the others in the session; a degree of planned networking, if you will… We’ve also had some great opportunities to work directly with several awesome teams. Throughout this process, we’ve gotten some very positive feedback on tangible results participants have gotten directly from the session. Over the next few weeks, we will be adding a dedicated page to our website (www.dove-development.net) that focuses specifically on the target audience for this tool. This page will include feedback from some of the folks that have firsthand experience.
So why am I telling you this? To make sure we’re providing access to this one-of-a-kind leadership diagnostic tool to the people that will benefit from it the most, we will soon be transitioning away from just after-hours, complimentary sessions for our close friends that hold leadership roles. Before we make this change, however, we will be hosting one FINAL open session on an evening in late March or early April.
