When leaving a large, structured, corporate environment after nearly 20 years, and working with several locally owned small businesses, I saw a significant gap in the processes used to handle many of the day to day tasks that are crucial to driving profitability. While these business offered a personal touch, often much like a family atmosphere, to their employees, rarely were plans in place to train and develop these employees to broaden their individual skills or to improve the overall company performance.

Around the same time, I completed the process to be recognized as a Certified Professional through the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM-CP), and received certification as an independent speaker, trainer, and coach with The John Maxwell Team. While both of these certifications were significant in my personal growth and development, it also gave me valuable content and expertise to offer individuals and small businesses that were looking for an advantage in the market place.

I’ve found that my unique experience in continuous improvement, safety leadership, performance management, and human resource development can offer significant value to organizations that often ask key team members to wear several hats. By partnering with a small business, we can develop systems and procedures that allow them to have the functionality of their larger peers while maintaining the personal touch and flexibility that’s so special in a small business.

While this experience may offer value to a variety of companies, it’s not without limits. That’s where my wife, Cindy, adds tremendous value. Having over 20 years of experience in health care, ranging from office management to sales and marketing, she has a passion for people. Also a certified speaker, trainer, and coach with The John Maxwell Team, Cindy brings a very different personal touch to developing profitable relationships with businesses and customers.
